IdeallyA Poem by Amy SeseJanuary 2012Did you know there's a difference between you and me? Like there's a difference between your mind and your heart, because your heart is the battlefield and your mind is caught up in the reality of today and tomorrow, of yesterday's problems. of the future and struggling to know where the home is because it can't find the heart. Within you. Inside of you. Have you noticed there's a difference between white and black? Yet the only difference is in its surface. Have you recognized the similiarties between gay and straight? Because we both have capability--- capability of loving, unconditionally. Have you seen the world from the other side? Because there really isn't another side. No heaven, no hell. Just us, right now. We're all alike because we flaunt our differences. We're too much the same, but our worlds are split soley by the depths of the oceans. You'll drown thinking you're the only one who's in motion when everyone else is thriving to the surface for just that one breath of bliss. The only difference you'll see is our acceptance of the changing seasons. of our global rotation within every single damn second. You'll see everything else happens at the same time. You'll see the moon is out when the sun is rising. You'll see the moon is out when the sun is setting. You'll see there are tears of laughter instead of crying. You'll see that you hate because you love, too much. You'll see that you actually do love because you hate, too much. You'll see the difference between 'seeing' and 'envisioning', and envision an entire society of one connected only by hands extended at each end, rounding the fields that were once battled for, surrounding the oceans we've once poisoned out of arrogance. Soon, you'll envision hands connecting every color possible, for a future in that the only thing 'dead' is its intolerance. © 2015 Amy Sese |
