The Abundant Life

The Abundant Life

A Poem by Amy Sese
"

28 April 2013

"
You inspire me to breathe in
at the end of the day
when loads have me suffocate.
You fill my lungs
and make your way to my brain,
so I can think sensibly.
What you breathe saves lives...
It's too underestimating to realize.
Your abundance encourages me to give,
unconditionally.
My aspiring example.
My gratuity at its peak.
You set the standards
for raw generosity.
This admiration I have with you
falls short of a love story,
because you are
seasonal and ever-changing.
Somewhere along the way,
I found you---
after each equinox,
before each solstice.
I found you,
shedding your colors to the world.
Some time before the setting sun
and after the rising light,
you stood, bathing---
roots embracing me
from the ground.
Basking,
you still stand,
reaching out to life.
Somewhere between Earth and Mother Nature,
there you were,
boldly.
Here you are,
flourishing.
You make your mark on me.
