The Hearts Regret

The Hearts Regret

A Poem by Ashley Myers
"

We all make mistakes, some big and some small, but no matter what it is we must learn from them and move on.

"
commitment;
Something we run from.
We fight, and push
Until what we had has finally gone.

Not realizing what you have
Until the moment it's gone.
Taking for granted
Every tender touch.

Every "I Love You"
Dismissed; pushed off.
Insults hurled
pushing them to the bitter death

Regret becomes all to familiar.
The body moves on
But the heart stuck in the past.
Wondering what could have been.

Tears become void
The heart becomes cold
Resenting ones self
For the mistakes made.

The heart must move on.
Let the healing begin.
Regret no more,
Let go and let live.

It's never easy to move on but we have to for our own good. Brilliant poem.
