NothingnessA Poem by Ashley Myerswriters block has gotten the best of me todayThe sun beats down on the cold diamond snow. I can feel the warmth through my window. The heat radiating off of my skin. The shadows on my cheeks dance playfully off my lashes As I sit at this wooden desk thinking of what to write. My cup of java to the right, pen and paper to my left, And a blank mind, I have nothing.
Oddly, today I have no inspiration. Thoughts twist and turn through my rollercoaster brain And I often have trouble keeping up with them. But at this very moment, unlike the days of success My mind is as barren as a lonely, ghost of a desert. I pry the bars that constrain my adventurous mind, But even then, I have only freed nothingness. Just, a blank mind, nothing.
