Firefly

Firefly

A Poem by pterodactyl

You brush away love like it's cold.
I'm left grasping
     at the shell
of the person you abandoned.
Dig down deep past those
     vacant eyes
to see
     this love isn't fleeting.
Buried underneath,
I catch your fireflies while you sleep;
Lighting the way
     leading you
back home to me.
