Small Town Girl

Small Town Girl

A Poem by Amy Turton

City lights always seem so beautiful to me,
but maybe that's because I'm a small town girl, you see.
Cobblestone streets are my way of life,
with big ol' green mountains that stretch up to the sky.
Tall buildings and skyscrapers are a whole different world,
to people like me, other small town girls.
So peaceful, so tranquil, it all seems so nice,
compared to the bustle of city life.
Still, it draws me in, this different world,
it makes me forget about being a small town girl.
I'd like to see what this way of life brings,
maybe it's time for me to spread my wings.
