Sing Me to Sleep

Your voice is my lullaby

A sweet goodbye

To all the days of being apart

Lure me into your dreams, lights out

With longing eyes and open arms, I’ll find you

Speaking the words as if it’s our last time

We’ll lean in and be glad we came through

In this believable fantasy, you’re forever mine

When truth fails

Your words speak

As lies fail

You come clean

We’ll sit where the waves meet the shore

Where the sky meets the horizon

The thoughts we share thin down to the core

As reality is forgiven

Sprays of saltwater

Taunt the flames beneath our skin

Electric where perfection falters

No words are needed for this conversation

We reminisce on all the memories that run past us

That tell me to speak up

When you’re drowned out by the beating in my chest

A beat that can only progress

Now the sky becomes less visible through the clouds

The heavy water puts out the flames

As I wake to find you distant from me

Please, sing me to sleep.

I absolutely adore this!

The title grabbed my attention because well....All Time Low is one of my all time favorite bands, ever. :D

I love how you only rhymed some words. It created an interesting flow which was a very good one. And I really really liked how the setting was on the shore! Being by any type of water is my favorite place to be..
