Storm WarningA Chapter by Abigail MuddimanPlease, be careful, no matter what you do. I know you think it’s stupid, but the rain Won’t quit because I worry about you And this is me, trying to restrain Myself from pushing you further away And I’m supposed to be studying, But instead I’m sitting here, wondering If you know of the prayers I send your way. Your truck cruises through water easily, While speakers drown out the thundering storm And your mind wanders around carelessly; The heaters and roof keep you nice and warm. I stare out the window of the fifth floor, Each silent seconds makes me worry more. © 2016 Abigail Muddiman |
