How to Get Too Attached

How to Get Too Attached

A Chapter by Abigail Muddiman

Trust them. Everything they say, without

Regard of their actual

Intentions.

Sing

Their favorite songs out of habit

And accidently start to like them, even though you

Never meant them to become part of your life.

Just look at them. Pick

A favorite trait and romanticize it to the point it

Kicks you in the throat

Every single time you see them.

Talk.

Hang on to their every word, like what they say is

Oxygen and you simply can’t breathe without it.

Make them laugh.

Argue.

Swear he’s just a friend.

Wager with friends

Hoping for a better outcome than the one

You know is inevitable.

Dare to have hope.

Open your mind to the

Impossibility of a happy ending,

Still praying and wishing

That he’ll see you for you

Instead of just some other girl.

Let him in.

Let yourself fall.

Connect;

Ask personal questions,

Remember the answers and

Erase your own in the process.

Waste"spend"all your time on

Him. He is the best thing to

Ever happen to you and you would

Never willingly let go.

Insist on caring.

Make him feel like the world evaporated,

Nothing but you two are left.

Only dream of his smile,

The one where

His tongue pokes out between his teeth;

It’ll become habit for you too.

Naivety is a

Great tool for those idiots in love.

Tell him you can make it

On your own, when he was on his way out anyway.

You know you’re lying,

Only he doesn’t care enough to notice.

Ultimately, you wonder if he ever did.
