Missing Out

Missing Out

A Story by Amanda

You shout at me,
I take it in,
I pretend that it's nothing,
until lately,
tears roll down,
cause I can't stand staying strong anymore.
You tell me to do this and that,
that just because I'm good at school doesn't mean anything.
You don't know the pain I am in.
I do good in school because of you,
I want to give you the best in the future.
I do good in school,
to prove people who don't believe in me wrong.
I do good in school so I won't let you down.
Now you come to me saying that it doesn't matter?

Have you really spent time with me these past years?
As of what I know,
you spend time with your laptop more than me,
how do you know how I feel as of right now?
I feel disappointed that you're missing out on me growing up.
