Mistakes

Mistakes

A Poem by Imperfection

Minor mistakes, huge blunders

I can’t be right everytime and always

Stumbling over, then getting up

That’s the way I learn in life

Abandoning my guilt and forgiving my own follies, but

Kindness shrinks when it comes to others

Even though I could’ve ignored your silly blooper

Sometimes I just forget to forgive when the fault is yours

"Sometimes I just forget to forgive when the fault is yours" - I really liked this line a lot,
There is just something which I can't describe in this poem but it is indeed one of those poems which I love to read over and over again.
Also, It reminded me of that song "Same mistakes" by James Blunt.
The Acrostic is indeed so beautiful, like always :)

That really hits home and still keeps on going. Yes it is very well written, the message is fantastic. It got me right where it mattered today. Thank you.

It is down right hard to forgive when the act committed against us brought us horrible pain. We some how want revenge and in our finite minds we think we will silently make them pay for what they did. Unfortunately, we rarely hurt them as much as we do ourselves. Bitterness gets the best of us and we gradually shrivel up and die day by day like a self-inflicted IV of poison. I have to disagree with those that say, "Forgiveness is forgetting." I have had to suffer some incredibly painful things that I have not forgotten. What I have found is, though I recall the incident (Once I have forgiven), the sting that use to be attached to the pain, is gone. Divine enablement for the ability to forgive is key--at least for me. There have been some things I would not have been able to forgive otherwise. Because of that, I can live free and I am happy most of the time. Great write!

How true, we live in such an egocentric society. If we could only step outside ourselves, we'd be more forgiving towards others. Great write

Forgiveness means nothing if there is no forgetting and it is easy to forgive, but the forgetting is what lets people down. You need to accept what you can't change and maybe he needs to forget the past out of guilt...another kettle that is always on the boil! Guilt can be overpowering and dominate your life till you die...better to try and let that go as well...
This was intelligently put together...thought provoking.
Cheers,
Helen.
