Clinging to the memory (Tanka)

When memories threaten to fade away, we cling to them. AT ANY COST...even if it multiplies the pain...

 

The wound in my heart

May have been healed by now but

Whenever the pain

Seems to be fading, I prick

At it to feel you again

I have to admit the pic caught my attention. But then I read it.
I was astonished because that is exactly how I felt when I broke up with my last boyfriend. I thought he was my true love. When memories of him started fading and the feeling of being with him was gone. I tried so hard to hold on to it. Eventually I had to let my past go.
Good luck in that area though, this was an amazing piece.
