This could be interpreted in a number of ways...

After killing him,

She looked into the mirror.

I liked to play out in left field, it is where I am most comfortable, just daydreaming and chasing butterflies as the case may be. The title may server as the hinge pin or it may serve as a distraction, but I am going to go with it being a distracting pin for this. All that mattered after killing him, was the guilt. It consumed her. Guilt is not a physical entity. She became her guilty conscience, not even an apparition of her former self. She would see nothing but the guilt. Just my view from left field.

Hmm I think I might have to think about this one before I can really comment. There really are so many different interpretations to so few words... great write!

Wow, this says so much in so little words. Very powerful. It is that stunned disbelieving, non-existent feeling.
The person who you knew to be you has vanished because your loved one has perished by your will.
This is a really a deep emotional write, Caffeine. It is thought provoking and leaves the reader to wonder.
Brilliant write.

thank you for entering my contest. nicely done. you are right. I interpret it she lost her face. she lost the courage to look at herself. nobody is allowed to take a life. not even the person themself to take her own life. great and surreal.

Steeped in mystery...I see a woman who has always been defined by her man, and now that he is gone, who is she...? Will she get the chance to find out? This is an intriguing piece, and I love it. :)

I agree with Jenny Davis ... it definitely gets the wheels up there to spinnin' .... and that is a very good thing. It has a haunting quality to it. I like it.

This is very interesting, although I think it is a senyru and not a haiku. It makes the reader wonder and that is always a good thing. Very nice! :)
