~~ wow... this happens to be my favourite subject for contemplation these days... especially in our country (india)... ~~ there are days when i think that our entire country is brimming with insane people who give sane people (who are in a minority) a truly hard time... ~~ i've been at the receiving end of this sort of insanity... expectations that could toss my sanity out of the window and turn me into a prototype of the stereotype...
~~ but returning to your post... you raise all the right issues... and you do so quite skillfully and powerfully... ~~ i really don't know when people like dabholkar, pansare and kalburgi will not be murdered in india... but i'm hopeful... ~~ some days, one sees people talking about your sense of sanity... freedom... individuality... and so on...
I can only imagine what the society of man in India considers as sane. But I do get your point of being forced into normalcy because the others do not accept you to be different. 'Set by stereotypes,by senseless norms.'
People depend on society culture to give them a sense of immortality. To not have that means to be closer to death but also closer to reality. Does that make sense to you ? Request you to review my story Angst which covers same problems.

We aren't accepted that easily...
