The Winding Path

The Winding Path

A Poem by amorvincitomnia

Across the smoggy distance
of a small battered path,
Lie the scattered pieces of wreckage
from the past covered in wrath

Excursions that once happened
in the drought of every day,
No somehow seem to disappear
down a drain line with betray

A short embrace of ruckus
binds itself around my mind
As I try to vanish the despair
by leaving it behind

Carting around the memories
that fail to depart my life,
Feeling precarious about my destiny
and if I can disassemble this strife.

Abandoning the trail of terror
that lead my way to despair,
Remembering to weave a web of memories
for past and present compare

This fear that I realize
I will never learn to lock away,
Is always and forever
going to be here to stay
