The Vessel

The Vessel

A Poem by Amor Ryder

The vessel was led by a wheel so true as the fine melodies of the soul only he knew.

It sang and rang and continued to endure the turbulence of this storm like there would be no more.

It pittered and pattered and echoed so steep like waves that were crashing far into the deep.

It came and went then came back again like the moment of regret before that first sin.

The ship, it was sinking, and losing sight of the shore, but the lighthouse ahead glistened and said “ever no more.”

The waves were thick and choppy ahead, but then suddenly the sky opened up and there was so much grace to be had.

It was real and lovely and ever so divine like a new ripe glass of 1800 Cabernet Wine.

“I’ll love you forever” said the wheel to the vessel. Like the hands of the clock you are my story teller.  You are the legs and I am the glue, forever, forever never rang so true.
