Why to love

Why to love with all my soul when ending is so painful?...
And love itself has never ever proven to be gainful...

Why to love with all my mind when she wasn't even thinking?
And jumped from the ship of hope when it just started sinking...

Why to love with all my feelings when she wasn't even mine?...
And if will we be together even there was no sign...

Why to love with all my heart when she has left me breathless?...
But what to do with storm in me that has made me restless...

Why to love with all my love when love is not existing?...
If it does, then prayers, beggings are not much assisting...

My goodness, you do seem a bit pessimistic, Ammar.
I am feeling a theme here. This is the second poem of yours I have read, and this line:
Why to love with all my feelings when she wasn't even mine?...
And if will we be together even there was no sign...
reminded me of my own experience.
More than forty years ago, I met and fell in love with a man who was separated from his wife. This man loved his wife with all of his heart, and all he wanted was to go back to her, but she kept saying NO.
Meantime, I was falling more and more deeply in love with him. He would come to me, and I would listen as he spoke of his love and his relationship. We would make love, and I would help to ease his pain.
Finally, she said YES, and he left to go back with her.
I never heard from him again; I didn't expect to, so I was not disappointed, but it left me with no love to give to another man, because he had taken it all with him.
He is dead now, but still my heart lies with him in his grave.
So I understand, and I want to tell you that even after all that, I am here, writing my heart.
I hope to see you on this site, writing yours.
