Where to save you

Where to save you

A Poem by Ammar Younas

Tell me!
Where to save you?
Choice is yours…
I can save you in a piggy bank
like a baby
who can't sleep
without hugging it.
Tell me!
Where to save you…
I can wear you in my hand
like a ring
or like a scarf
around my neck…
Tell me!
Like a poet who keeps a peacock’s feather
in his poetry book
Or you want me to save you
in a folder
inside folders of my laptop…
Tell me!
I can drink you
like a cup of coffee
so I may feel you
when you are not
active in my blood…
or I can request
to broken mirrors of dewdrops
to keep you projecting
inside the garden everywhere…
Tell me!
Where to save you?
Choice is yours…
Because you will not
be able to escape
If I closed you
in my eyes for eternity…

Hi, Ammar; I see you're new here. Welcome! I hope you'll be happy here. I read your poem, and really loved the line: broken mirrors of dewdrops
to keep you projecting
inside the garden everywhere.
This is a beautiful image, and one I will likely remember for a long time, recalling every time I see dewdrops in the garden.
The final line, a bit scary. Maybe you intended it so? It made me think of someone threatening to commit suicide. That's scary to think about when it is written by someone who is able to make beautiful pictures with their words. I hope it was just to end the piece with a note of true finality. It certainly succeeded there! You also said, "Like a poet who keeps a peacock's feather in his poetry book." How did you know? I actually do that; only it's not a book of my poetry. It's Shakespeare.
Anyhow, welcome, Ammar; I hope you'll stay with us.

Wow. So passionate, save her in your heart, so that every time it beats it calls that name.

If I saved her in my heart, she would be in trouble. She would not be able to run any way.

Why do you want to make her run away?
