Unreasonable Reasons

Unreasonable Reasons

A Poem by Archer Knopp
"

Injustice done only to the best of us

"
Injustice done to you
Unfair that you suffer.
Unreasonable reasons why

Be safe as you Journey
your departure is for your own safety.
Even bearing this in mind
Reaching for the door handle you glance behind
eyes glazed over in pain.

How to say goodbye
you don't know.
How to explain this, it's not explainable
Nonsensical..
Unreasonable reasons as to why you are forced to leave

To hide

But do not worry
It was never our place to ask why
or to question.
We don't need to know
to Understand
Or to be here for you
Understanding the instinctive duty that you helped to instill within us all

Caring
Don't explain
it's okay.

You leave in your wake a legacy of people you touched as you laid down the stones in the foundation of this family
You leave a wish within us all that your time gone will be short
Your struggles few
and your return swift.

A dream of the day when your voice will once again fill the rooms of this shelter.

Great poem, dude. I get the feeling it must be about someone pretty cool.
I'm not usually the emotional type, but this almost brought tears to my eyes.
