It's time

It's time

A Poem by amiri

It's here, that time
and about time too
Where we settle in for the long run
When we make all anew
We can't, of course
But we'd really like to

I've been dreaming so long
Trying to conjure your face
And now I can see you
As pictures in sound waves

They say you've already taken after,
The bad things I do
Me, your father, that'll take getting used to
Your silhouette resembles a familiar scene
Kicked back, relaxed, puffing away it would seem
(Though we'll not let you see that, I'll have kicked it by then)
Take a leaf from your mother, take up planting instead.

Please don't take too long
Though, we're nowhere near ready
I've so much to say to you
Can't it be summer already
