FossilsA Poem by amiri
There is a moment
that I daren't define by seconds, years any measure of time since it would bear no resemblance to the size of it all the depth,
mass,
gravitational pull It began with an instant a flint's ignite we kindled over anger exploded to life all of a sudden. then slower, each day our world gathered up though the edges were frayed with all 'round us chaos we kept torturous embrace chose any direction and founded the place where we'd lay waste to our senses to forget, in a way that the more we grew closer the less we could say when the skies finally settled and sealed us in you kicked off in venture, forgot how to swim so I started to walk on my own, to begin with my love dragged behind me to catch on the wind That wouldn't quite take it for it had been exhausted by shaping the mountains and the seas that we haunted Over a course it slumped to the ground became compressed into history and you weren't to be found The moment had passed it means more, ever still and occasionally I dig up the finest of fossils
