A Poem for YouA Poem by AlliYou find yourself waiting, impatiently fearing the moment where it all goes wrong. Holding strong to self destructive tendencies just in case the symphonies of your soul are not played out quite so beautifully. But sister, what if it all goes right? Just because it’s never happened doesn’t mean it never will, and If probability has anything to do with it, the chances of waking to the golden hour of your life are much greater now than the possibility of it all ending in tragedy. Your next week next day next step and breath could change your entire trajectory: To circumnavigate the earth a single degree off course, will land you over 500 miles from where you started; Perhaps all you need is to turn your back just one degree so you stop simply landing back here. You are not a meteor, destined for destruction. but a shooting star destined for wishes and dreamers. And sister, I wish you could see your own light because I swear you shine despite the black ashes of your past blinding your eyes from seeing that Everything, truly, is going to be alright. The only difference between failure and success is the strength to try again tomorrow. If there’s anything I have learned it’s that the smallest change can change everything, so please just remember: The only difference between coal and diamonds is high pressure; the only difference between diamonds and you is that you are stronger. © 2015 Alli |
