Sand Creek

Sand Creek

A Poem by amenimity
"

poem by KC writer Joni Wilson aka Amenimity

"

So many people I love drown in the glamour

Drown in the darkness of the waves

I wish more then they’d ever believe

But still they are slaves

It’s hard to stand by and just watch them

Kill themselves over and over again

When they could be so much more

But they just don’t see it

They don’t see what you do

Sacrifices were made for them

Hearts broken and emotions abused

So far away to call them a friend

Wondering where they got confused

It’s hard to watch and have no effect

It’s hurts too much that you just give up

When do you give up hope?

When should you call it quits?

And stop wishing for them.

The part that hurts the most

Is when you know they will never be

What you wish them to be

It’s hurts more when you realize

They will never amount to your dreams

Then you have to let go

And you know

Your dreams will never be the same
