I Talk Too Much

I Talk Too Much

A Poem by amenimity

poem by KC writer Joni Wilson aka Amenimity

"

I talk too much

But when I don’t

They all do

About nothing

But when I talk

It’s obnoxious

And when I don’t

It’s obvious

That maybe, I might be listening

Because I care about

Who is talking

It seems to me

Paper is my only real friend

To criticize those around you

Without thinking of the cause and effect

Is not only selfish

But is normal for our society

To convert yourself

To be

Exactly what you want

Is harder

Then you’d ever believe

I act like I don’t care

To make myself feel strong

It’s just a feeling

That you feel

I care too much

And it hurts me everyday

To hear that I don’t

Care of anyone but me

If they would only focus a little more on what’s wrong with them

Then what’s wrong with me

I doubt they’d complain all the time

And talk about each other

Maybe just maybe

They’d be happy

About who they really are
