forgive me father

forgive me father

A Poem by Lyn Anderson
"

the words we wish we did not utter sometimes are things we had to say

"
You were so angry that day
and I was too ...

So determined was I
to make you see
the lie that denied
the very blood
in your veins
was not your fault

It was a fable
created
to
assimilate
separate
and make you
believe
the best parts of you
shone
white ...

Forgive me father,
for now
I understand
what they took
from others
they also
took from you.

Hell yeah .. she writes and records amongst so many other things truth .. I so hope others will now dare to follow in the wake I intentionally leave behind me .. these words are so much more deserving of this much at least .. Neville
