dandelions & pink memories

dandelions & pink memories

A Poem by Lyn Anderson
"

the sky is quiet

"

dandelions

dot the green grass

like sunny spectators

lining up for the big show

assembled patiently

with their sisters

laden in fuzzy white coats

all dressed up

and no where to go ...

they're just

waiting

for the

wind to blow.

pink memories

clog my mind

cotton candy

suffocating

sweet

love notes

whisper in the red moon

morning

the sky quiets me

when I can't

think of anything

but running back

to you ...

pencil me into your notebook

and I'll sign on the dotted line

the one that says I'm yours

and you're mine ...

I draw you in my mind

fill me with your pen ...

Where my neighbor sees noxious weeds I see, well I see the same thing actually, but I do appreciate your take on them.

Ah well, I appreciate your appreciation
I absolutely love your first stanza. I've always been a fan of dandelions and seed dispersal. "Don't pick them or you'll wet the bed', my Nan would say. The whole poem is lovely but your first stanza drew me in and gave me me memories.

thanks so much, I appreciate it. I have a lot of catching up to do.:)
Your imagery is always amazing but tying in the sweetness even almost cloying sweetness of reluctant love is awesome!

What a nice way of looking at those dandelions. I enjoyed this scattering of romantic love notes across the page.

You are welcome dear Lyn.
ohhhhhhhhh boy...poets in love! danger danger danger ;))) that is the best attitude on dandelions I have ever heard ... I tend to sound the alarm when I see their armies rising up ;) the contrast with pink is delicious ... interesting you speaker has tasted too much ... your red moon morning skies are also very interesting and dramatic for me ..red skies in the morning...sailors take warning ;) your verses are like bursts of inspiration taken down at different times on scraps of this and that so as not to forget them ... the overall feeling of a lasting love ... through all the different aspects of a heart and life is what I get from your form and font ... so...Lyn... is he writing love poems for you?? ;))))))))

Yes. That's one of our favourite movies. In my case, my poet was more a deceiver and less a romantic
