satin kisses in the clouds

satin kisses in the clouds

A Poem by Lyn Anderson
"

not what you might expect

"

Once I lived in a corrugated castle

in a rainy kingdom

of lies ...

I spent a fair amount of my youth

walking on clouds..

Turned out I didn't like it too much,

Spent most my time

gasping for air

searching for substance

inside the words that didn't support me,

Left me flailing,

without a soft place to land --

Instead I like the weight of you,

and my feet firmly on the ground

where I can hear the truth you speak

without making a sound.

Satin kisses into the night

Put your may inside my might

And never let me go ...

thank you so much
I love that opening stanza! The poem is a mix of sad reflection and the contrast of feeling a deep connection and the safety of love's protection. As always written in flowing and emotionally meaningful language.

When you meet someone who can take away the pain....ah, that is special and that person is a keeper! "Put your may inside my might"....a great line! Lydi**

I loved this poem and you are welcome dear poet.
Love is somewhat fairytale ish when caught up in the initial euphoria of feelings warm but when the clouds clear, the dust settles you see things for what they are and not to one’s liking. A lovely written piece, just wonderful.

Very true when it isn't the real thing. But there's nothing like a good grounded and solid love.

So very true. Thank you for your visits
Clouds are fluff and dissolve to quickly, one needs a solid foundation to build from.
This is wonderful
