blue thoughts

blue thoughts

A Poem by Lyn Anderson
"

her thoughts are blue

"
When you're in love, there's always a special something. For me, it's the blue.

Colours
fell into
the ocean blue
that was
you ...

not a when, exactly,
but an incremental
awakening ---
from empty,
to deep blue
see …

inside her heart the blackness grew
until she left behind
the only life she ever knew
and found the light
at the edge of his blue …

and it was there
she discovered
she didn't need to be
the centre
of his universe,
just the sparkle,
at the edge of his blue …

was there any place
she'd rather be
than somewhere
lost inside
the things
he thought
might be?

More than she can admit,

More than she thought possible,

Deeper than his blue eyes,

Softer than his quiet smile,

More than she ever knew,

The ones nailed shut;

The hidden ones

She didn't know

What they were for

His love opens

Every door

Thank you, I appreciate it
Gloriously romantic words, Lyn. To be the center of one's universe is not necessary...just to add that sparkle! I liked this one. Lydi**

Ahh glad you picked that out. So perceptive.
I do understand the lines below.
"was there any place
she'd rather be
than somewhere
lost inside
the things
he thought
might be?"
I wish for re-do, but no re-do in a life. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Too kind. I appreciate the visit
Good to see you posting again and still smitten so badly the vitriolic poetry has been shed in favour of lovely romantic pieces as this.

It seems blue has played a large part in the soundtrack of our lives. Blue is cool...you can be a blue blood...
but now, it seems you no longer need to be blue, Lyn.

A beautiful love story set in poetic form.

A good write.

Thank you, my friend.
When I was a young lass, blue seemed like such a sad and depressing color/feel. Now that I have experienced so many colors and shades I grasp the total understanding of its hues and therefore can find so much pleasure and understanding in this fine piece of yours. Blue the new Red :)

Thank you so much. I am so pleased you stopped by and enjoyed.
Most associated blue with sadness. I love how you've turned that around into exploring the depths and the edges of love. This is wonderful.
