so many 11s

so many 11s

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

Remembrance Day, 2018

"
A hundred November 11s
How many have passed
Into the heavens
Waiting for peace to last
Since the war to end all wars
Was done.

Lest we not forget all those who died in war since the armistice was signed.

Thank you for dropping in
War always pops up as though on a schedule. Men find some way to bring out the declaration in one way or another and so many die because of it.

I know. I always observe Remembrance day and I always feel sad because we're still so stupid
And the guy said. You can't stop wars, I'll be out of a job.
And the world agreed. Something tells me the greatest war isn't that far off.
But let us respect the dead. The reason why we're here.

Sadly I have that feeling as well. Thanks for commenting
There's a thought for us to ponder on. It doesn't bear thinking about does it Lyn?. Yes, since the war of all wars, there have been many more and millions more have died. That's why we should remember those deaths each year. Short poem which the reader could spend much time reflecting on.

Nor me. but even worse, our Leaders don't understand.
Great question asked. USA had two of the longest war going. Both cannot be won. I pray everyday. My grandchildren are not fighting old war and for old hate. Powerful and worthwhile words shared Lyn.
