Your nonsensical verbosity

is poetical atrocity!

Artistic licence is too easy,

to justify your,  just too breezy,

wanton disregard for grammar rule;

necessities we were taught in school.

Language melds into monstrosity,

to prove your own virtuosity,

and so succumbs to simply sleazy.

Cakes, not bards, are meant to be cheesy.

A pen can be a powerful tool.

Use it wisely, or be proved a fool.

You make sestests sounds so easy, Lyn! This is cool and speaks my mind regarding the subject. Some times, I just shake my head at what people qualify as a piece of writing (not wanting to appear bigheaded here though)

i really like the humor, but in a serious sense...for poets, words are key and the presentation of them is so important....sloppy writing taints the genre...

You know of what I speak and always present your work beautifully and in style
Wonderful tongue in cheek humor and choice of vocabulary in this one! Loved the rhyming too. Indeed, there are too many people who think they can just throw some words on the page and call it a poem. Lydi**

Gee
I think there must be many on here, who like me, left school not much the wiser than when they started and “ wing it “ when it comes to writing.
Really like the second verse.
Hi Lyn, hope you are well.

Well you wing it well my friend. :)
You've expressed sentiments that I share, but usually keep quiet about. Over the years I've said how I feel about bad writing a few times, but then regretted it. Who am I to tell someone what is right or wrong and how they should write? After all, I'm just a poorly educated amateur with no degrees or certificates. Being proved a fool is not a nice thing. Thank you for this wise poem.

Did you create a contest just to highlight this justified rant? *wink! wink!* I have been noticing a newsfeed-clogging trend from a few of the more "prolific" writers here at the café. I try to hold back my commentary but it's always satisfying to see someone witty like you letting 'er rip as you do so craftily! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Dear Grandfather told me. Use your words wisely. negative words and thoughts can lead us to dangerous places. Thank you Lyn for sharing the amazing poetry.
