Six

Gone

In a blink of an eye

And a flash of a

Wanna be right wing

Christian terrorist WHY?

There is never a

reason

though there are many

justifications

for these heinous

actions.

They've called you

a lone wolf,

terrorist,

or mentally unstable.

Six grieving families

don't care about your label.

I don't care

if you were

depressed.

I don't care

if you were

sad, mad, or just plain bad.

You make me ashamed

to be Canadian, Christian,

and white …

Because there is no equation

in which six wrongs

make a right.

Such division is abhorrent, no action like this is justified, heart breaking. You voiced something that resonates in my own heart :)

thank you for your comments and your review.
As horrible as this event was I liked the poetic math that made up the narrative.

Thank you for stopping in.
It's especially difficult to process this in our country. We need to find ways to stand behind and in front of those we share this planet and country with.

well said my friend ...strong in acknowledgment of the shame felt ... a place where weeping and anger can abate ... tho trying to refuse it at first...we do carry the shame and guilt ... perhaps can not .. and the thirst for justice remains ... and our defense against such things needs perpetual sharpening ... i will guess many around him were alerted; but did not listen or having listened did not act ... i can not accept that such things may be "meant to happen" ... a fine, pointed social commentary and (i think) deeply respectful tribute to loss felt surrounding this instance... a pall of sadness hangs around me ...so well done KL!

Thank you, yes, it is a sad condition, humanity.
Every day a new atrocity puts another nail in the coffin of mankind.

I despair, truly I do; and as for 'man and kind,' if ever two words were mismatched, they are top of the list by a country mile.

Beccy.

Yes it is true. Thank you.
Poignant, timely and full of emotion. The anger and sadness mixes on the palate in red and blue and describes the feelings of many in this flowing appropriately ranting poem!
