me, you, this room, and an elephant or two.

me, you, this room, and an elephant or two.

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

Rainy day compilations

"
a little bit of nothing

you can't know
what you don't
trite but true --
you've never been
where I went
but someone like me
having someone like you
when little things
are big
and nothings
are everything
you are more
than you can know
to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
filling the room with polka dot elephants

dancing around the room
with 300 pound gorillas
and polka dot elephants

I am very good at
filling the room
with words.

all of them but three.

you are very good
at not saying anything
and letting things be.

I heard and said too much
prior to opening your door.

you don't want to say
what you've never said before.

each time you stand
and watch me go
you wonder
is it the last?

neither of us
is quite ready
to completely shed
the past.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------my heart to keep

sacrificed on the altar
not once
but twice.

handed my heart over
like cheese
to mice.

but for the first time
I found someone
to whom I wish to listen.

discovered something
I never knew.

the one who loves you
will never
take your heart
away from you.

I read this a couple of times to pick out my favourite and well this one here,
"the one who loves you
will never
take your heart
away from you."
this sort of stuck with me.. Overall I feel, really feel your composition.. I sense a bit of a sad part too but I like the way you conveyed this!

Really loved the 2nd part, It's contains more absurdity in some sense then the others and that's right up my alley. Thoughtful, abstract, great meaning. I think it's brilliant. Sincerely yours, Jules.

Its lovely here at yours. Always soulful...thoughtful, and progressive here, with a solid lyrical feel. R xo

I am glad. Some understand more than others. Thank you.
What a wonderful creation!

From first word to last, the words weave history and hope. Your phrasing is always gently laid and yet has true personal style, ' I am very good at - filling the room - with words. - all of them but three.'

Seems its a case of if you don't succeed or maybe - and more likely, 'proceed.' And you did, and you have; now the outcome seems more than forever after.

My true pleasure, Wishing you all you wish yourself and those you love.
I like the reflections in these poems. In the first one, I really like "when little things are big and nothings mean everything". It's like the start of a relationship. And then in the 2nd poem, I like how these 2 people are so careful. It's sad when we can't get past our pasts; we miss so much, but I know it is hard to come around sometimes. And the third, I love how it says "the one who loves you will never take your heart away from you". I don't want to get too reflective here, but I found myself GIVING my heart to people who were more than happy to take them, because that's what they were, TAKERS. The person who really loves you wants you to keep your heart and simply share it with them.
I like how you included all three of these together. It's like a story. :)
