a packet full of heartache

a packet full of heartache

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

a collaboration with Papaya http://www.writerscafe.org/AnaPapaya

"

He picks a packet
full of dyed heartache
and waits
until the past
is bleached by the sun

Colours renew,
vivid scenes
long forgotten
unfold
in my mind ...

He feels the need
to mix it well,
rub it til the ache
bleeds
into the new ...

               Memories
               come alive,
               though
               all my dreams
               have died.

               Drowned,
               my heart
               in a pool
               of red dye ...

But I'll not let you
see me cry,
not this time ...

                         I won't let it set.

Excellent collab. I've noticed a lot of poems about abuse tend to invoke colors as symbols and had been considering for a time now of doing up a collection of such poetry and publishing it on lulu having the proceeds go to a domestic abuse charity of some sort. Would either of you two be interested in that?

I would, certainly. As for Ana, that is up to her. I also have a few others that fit that criteria, .. read more

you two should continue to collaborate ..in my thought..on a regular basis .. your poem is bone real .. abuse ..in all its horror .. even when the perps are burned at the stake .. the memories rekindle the fire and agony that are way too real .. your closing could be more clearly vitriolic in my opinion .. rock on dear ladies rock on ..

Why thank you. The set is a play on dye, which we both felt fitting. Ana and I collaborate well. :)
Empowering....I may be down, but I am not out and I never will be again. IN YOUR FACE! Never let em see you sweat! Ladies, this collab is wonderful. Lydi**

With Ana, it comes naturally.
song is like anger personified... and the poem is like a FU I wont fall again... as well as a F-off... it is ugly when someone "rub it til the ache
bleeds
into the new.." the pain of this is vivid as is the "I won't let it set."

Papaya, Kl, you two collab well together, dare I request more from time to time... ;0)
