catching up on past thoughts

September remembers
all those that have gone before
sultry August lingers
during sunny days
in a summer that stubbornly
refuses to relinquish its grip --
shorter days and cooler nights
affirm that September remembers
and will not be denied.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

September is the transition between summer and fall. It is often overlooked as a month because there are no holidays that are memorable.

CONTENT AND FORMAT

"Past thoughts" are sometimes unhealthy when we begin to dwell on them. I envision the speaker caught in a reverie of a summer fling. It is difficult to let go of the past when the scar is so damaging. We can move on from an unpleasant experience, but it does not mean we have to forget.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Overall, I am enjoying the different moods in each chapter. Thank you for sharing!

These are all the feelings that September brings, well-expressed! I have loved September, but now October brings a little more of an autumn kick on these chilly damp mornings. Not so much straddling summer heat & autumn coolness like September! *smile* (((HUGS)))

Well thanks. Apparently October November are supposed to be unseasonably mild. So snow will be awhile.
