A Chapter by Lyn Anderson

"
A poem
should slide
inside,
make you
feel
something,
anything!
grab you by the
(you decide)
it isn't about
counting the
syllables,
prying apart
the lines;
it should
reach right in
and
grab your

heart.

The best poems do that without doubt, They grab the poet and hopefully they grab the reader. This one does. Well written and stated.

Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
ahahaha ..i am shown to be the dirty ol' man once again ..yes ..the heart for sure ...when we are successful that's one of the most precious of organs to be grabbed ... nice job with the freedom ma'am .. very smooth read for me .. emotive and engaging ...with a dab of wisdom for poets everywhere

Ah, now that is where I've been going wrong, trying to hard (not that the results show that). Simple but oh so true

You are the most interesting character. Thanks for stopping in.
Poetry's like music. It's gotta move you in some way or it fails. Even if it annoys the crap out of you it still works. Drifting off to watch the squirrels frolic in the yard while you're reading it, that's not good. I didn't drift off while reading this so I don't know what in the hell the squirrels are doing.

I definitely agree the most important aspect of poetry is making the reader feel- whether it is sharing the poets own emotions or providing the mechanism from which emotion can emerge.

You are absolutely write. And whether the meaning the poet intended is the one the reader sees is irrelevant. It matters only that the reader FEELS. I liked this. Lydi**

I absolutely agree even though I enjoy a good structure yet emotions are the most important part for they provide depth.

The truest of sentiment. Now and then I like to count a syllable or two but just when I am feeling masochistic .

I say let the muse guide you:)
Such beautiful Free Style poeting, KL … love it!
I, also, love sensual poetry, especially the way you do it, making it softly whisper with such metaphoric suggestiveness … taunts the senses jussst right!
How inspiring it is to see you broadening your poetic scope, too, by delving into various forms to express your endless imaginings, amongst your usual.
I could not agree with you more about heart-grabbing, either.

This little firecracker virtually dances through every fiber … ummm! ⁓ Richard
