the sometimes green

the sometimes green

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

thoughts on the hot summer storm

"
the sometimes green
of the deceptively delicate
tamarack tree
beckons ...
bending in the hot summer wind
the sun feels delicious
even as the air oppresses --
the storm approaches
I can feel it under my skin;
awaiting the coolness
of your rain.

Summer storms....we can feel them brewing. The wind picks up and we know the rain will follow. The coolness of the rain is delightful after the heat of a summer day. Great imagery in this one. Lydi**

I like your word choices and the allusions to nature. There's this softness about it and the way you sort of personify it in the end, which I really like. Nature is an inspiration.

what a terrific allegory---life throws those storms at us, and sometimes we actually need them to make our better times greener and more full of fertile happiness---
