I try not to as much as I used to, but sometimes someone pushes the right button

You don't know me,

you don't even have

the courtesy,

to pop in

and say hello.

But you wish to use me.

I am not a points collector,

or a points giver.

I read what I like.

I comment as I see fit.

I never count how many lines

I write to make my review a feature,

or to collect virtual badges.

I write fast and review often.

that may make me "popular"

on some page I never visit,

but it doesn't make me

easy.

ok, definitely not much of a poem. More of a "Give me a break".
Unsolicited friend requests without the courtesy of a note or
a review of my work is insulting. I have had the experience in
here of being bombarded with requests by people who don't
actually like or respect my work, but are wanting more reviews
and views. I don't appreciate that. I am here to read, review,
interact, and write, not fulfill others' needs for attention and
virtual points and badges. Nuff said -- I kept it G rated for all.

My goodness...I hear you and feel this. I review RR's but in all honesty have grown tired of being bombarded, and I'm a 'nobody' and as for some of the FR I have to wonder if they know what this site is about(cringe).

Very true. I have my "rr" function turned off for this specific reason. If I want to read your poetry I will go through the "work" of visiting your page and scrolling through your pieces. And if I want to discover new people I've never read before I'll use the search function for it. But random people who add me and don't bother to view or review my pieces I almost always delete. Same goes for the messages lol. I don't care if it is perceived as mean by others.

Right on, and thanks. I am skeptical of any requests prior to a review. Delete it, and see what happens. If people are actually interested in interacting, they will make an effort.

Well I can't argue with that. I do get a lot of requests for friendship and the odd dumb guy that is ...

I often give the friend requests the benefit of the doubt and a few pleasantly surprise me and turn out to be nice. Others bombard me with several read requests just as soon as I hit that accept button. I really don't like that so much so I delete those people shortly thereafter.

I do keep my read requests on and don't mind them in general because if a friend has something they want reviewed then I oblige. But what I have found is you come to know who is genuine and who is not.
I don't send a read request for any of my poems because I know the people that I have as friends here will come anyway. (I got 4 points for this review - woo hoo!)

Amen. That's what makes this page so annoying at times, if I choose to have a break from this site, it's mostly because of the irritating users on here. People keep sending me messages with read requests because I don't allow the actual rr function, even ones I've never came across or receiving a bunch of friend requests from people not even interested in your writings or whatever. I have too many unnerving examples of how people kind of f*** me up on here to list. I like your honesty and how you manage to write this down in a creative way.

I tend to accept a lot of people's fr r's but I delete most of them if they never review any of my pieces, f.ex.

I'm hearing you so loud & clear, babycakes! I've been bombarded myself. EVERYONE who sends a FR, I read some of their stuff, most of it sub-par, but I review anyway & decline their FR. Then some have the nerve to confront, as to why I declined. That's the trigger button for me. In a private message, I will get very real about why their writing appears to squander my time, in search of the mutual inspiration I crave. I only have as friends, those whose writing I truly love, plus offering a reciprocal enjoyment. Bravo for saying what many of us hard-working writers & reviewers are thinking.

Thanks so much. Some people are looking to hit thousands of views and reviews without caring the actual interaction. Not I. I don't comment on things that don't strike me. If directly asked to review a piece by a person who has reviewed me, I will respond with off air advice. I don't like to insult, I like to help, and people who can't stand an honest critique, soon will never receive another review from me. As for you, dear lady, mistakes or stuff I don't like I just don't run across (except maybe the about pot, for my experiences in that area are very negative).
