take back the day

take back the day

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

there are some days you would seize

"
take it back

seize the day
and throw it out
the window --
I am sorry
I told you
anything.
I am sorry
I told you
nothing.

nothing to you

I am not just someone

Am I?

Still?

After all of this time?

Who am I kidding?

I am nothing

If I am just someone

To you.

I especially like the nothing to you part. Very powerful how you use the just someone. Still?

Take back the day...I know the feeling. They say live in the present moment, enjoy the now. But sometimes...

Well done.

Thank you and I appreciate your return visit.
We must never judge our worth by the opinion of another. This is one time when YOUR opinion is the only one that counts. There are times that pages from different books can come together to make another beautiful story, but sometimes, it is best to burn that book. Always a lot of emotion packed into your words. I enjoyed this. Lydi**

Most definitely. I concur. Thanks for the read.
Wander away for a bit, and this is what I find? First, Garbage is an under-rated band. Next, nice use of bookends. It makes the center piece shine.

Thank you my friend.
As usual, I have been here with your work and the music for a long time. I read through this several times just for the stirrings it caused in my heart...what is it about remembering sadness? Then I took to watching the video...that led me on somewhat of an intense heart, soul, head venture! I loved the video by Garbage - Stupid Girl and somehow ended up on you tube with a page of music...I have now been through the one you posted Stupid Girl by Garbage, plus Pink's - Stupid Girls, Cold's - Stupid Girl, and Madeline Juno's- Stupid Girl. My head and heart are reeling. What a journey and then to come back here to let you know how much this trio of poems meant to me. All this music swirling in my head, all the meanings, and just the way it feels to feel regretful or that we've invested too much, or revealed too much, or maybe just hoped too much. I've got to get on, have to move away and do planned things, but I want you to know that this is one of my favorites of yours. If it's any comfort...I relate.

the ending is perfectly written-
if you're just someone

well done here- the pain and hurt is felt throughout
-mutual disbelief
in
happy endings

even of different books-
all of that is so well put.

Ouch. So much agony, bitterness and disappointment included. Or at least that's what I read into it based on my own experiences. Taking back one day - good idea. Being just someone to another one? I can relate to unfortunately.

Pleasure..........
I can totally relate to the song choice and thinking, believing, hoping that there's more when there isn't and then regretting all that I revealed. The first one resonated with me most.

Yes but when we vent it's so beautiful isn't it?

especially like the second one....the "mutual disbelief in happy endings"

makes sense.
