That's a good way of looking at it. For all the things... I wonder sometimes who I would be if not for all the things. But in some ways they made me stronger, if a little screwed up at times...

It is hard not to hate your former life, and wish it never happened, but then again, without it, where would I be? First off, I would never wish away my kids. And when I think, ok, I could have left when the second was not yet born, there is no way I would have met the person I am with today. Nor would I have hung from the CN tower, or learned to run long distance. All of that happened because of my miserable marriage.

Love this. It reflects the sense made somehow in all the bad. If different choices had been made, even if avoiding painful ones, then, the roads would have led elsewhere. All of the unknowns of the "roads not taken"...if your forks have led you to contentment, well, that is a true gift.
