from there to where I want to be

from there to where I want to be

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

the heartache that leads to happiness.

"
regrets don't lead me to you

regrets
are pointless --
because
any doubt
that I
should have
gotten out
sooner,
would never
have led
me to
your door.

it came down to a couple of words,
and the first was hello ...

all of that matters

pour me a drink,
and we'll toast
my former
misery ...

if only
I
should have
could have
would have

painful as it may be
 all
of that
matters,
because without it

there's no you and me.

That's a good way of looking at it. For all the things... I wonder sometimes who I would be if not for all the things. But in some ways they made me stronger, if a little screwed up at times...

You're welcome. Thanks for sharing your point of view.
Our past is is our future in many ways...without our personal histories we wouldn't be who we are...reflectively poignant :)

Thank you so much, and yes, the song, and band, are great.
Love this. It reflects the sense made somehow in all the bad. If different choices had been made, even if avoiding painful ones, then, the roads would have led elsewhere. All of the unknowns of the "roads not taken"...if your forks have led you to contentment, well, that is a true gift.

No relationship is a waste of time... even when we heartbroken we learn more about ourselves and grow stronger inside when we remember the happy times.

Thank you my friend, and no matter how much it hurts, the heartache serves a purpose.

I can't argue with that :))))
I so agree that life has to happen on its own time table. Tho we'd love to usher out the ugly & have gotten to the beauty sooner, alas, we must learn our lessons, which takes time. Then we're all the more grateful & appreciative for what comes much later, having the wisdom to treat it with loving care . . . love your message.
