unfaithful ground

unfaithful ground

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

a fleeting thought in spring

"
the ground feels
unfaithful --
sponge
beneath my feet.
a perversion
of what
the earth
should be
solid
something
to stand on,
the way
life extended
a bridge
that led
from him
to you.

The soft soggy earth of spring, watch your footing, it's easy to fall and get hurt.
Solid ground does feel safer. I like the comparison.

Thank you. Yeah, the parks are muddy this time of year. :)
