love's snippets and end cuts

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

reorganization of earlier work with a new addition

"
The day I met you
was the day
I left regret
behind ...

i know i am not
exactly who you
had in mind --
neither of us
was looking
for the staying kind.
no one is as
surprised as me
that you've come to
mean so much to me
but maybe
that is exactly
the way it
was supposed
to be.

let's face it,
we aren't exactly
a poster for a
classical romance.
but something
in your words
caught my eye
and we gave
it a chance.
my kiss
caught your lips,
your touch,
caught my sigh,
and somewhere between
a one night stand
and forever,
we
came from
you and I

""classic romances" are only hollywood, our are real and best when they hit you upside the head in unexpected ways.. I know this to be true with my first wife. I remember asking myself many times why are you falling in love with her?? and yet there I was, knee deep in trouble, over my head in wonderment and "he's got it bad", in love.. your poem reminded me of this wonderful feeling KL, thank you..

and it was an enjoyable read ( I liked the first version too)

oh thanks, I did too, but this one lets all three stand out.
when we don't expect to stay and we do...that is when it is best...when love surprises, it is real, spontaneous...
