attitude I see
jutting out
obscenely
between your
nose and your
square tip shoes ...

you always need to be
the centre of attention
and you are clearly
the expert on
everything from
diesel engines
to nuclear physics
you thought I was
an easy mark ...

you thought yourself
more than adequate
to enchant me
away from a man
you believe to be
a simple farm hand,
but I see
through you
and into him.

Thanks for the comments - both of you. Lydia is much more polished, but we are both observational and literal to a degree. I admire Lydia as a writer and a person.
