love as a precision instrument

love as a precision instrument

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

for Jon Roggie, your work inspired me

"
with precision,
your love sliced through
all that was extraneous
to me --

the subcutaneous
layer of bravado
I use to hide
the me within --

expertly and painlessly
exposing each dermal stratum,
and the not so pretty
under-skin ---

when the right surgeon
wields the scalpel,
the healing
can begin.

I saw agree here. You are using medical terminology as a metaphor. Our physical matter is just our exoskeleton. Underneath the skin are the vital or most delicate organs. Same way a mollusk has to hide and cover itself with an outer shell to protect the delicate and vulnerable tissue otherwise its a fair game. This is like my penned poem " INCISION " ... Well crafted piece KLGoode. I enjoyed this.

Thanks very much, since I have that medical training (for animals) it comes naturally to me.

I can relate ...
Once the incision is made and the inner beauty of the patient is revealed the healing process becomes something extremely enjoyable to both invovled. Once again, the way you weave your thoughts into a different seemingly unrelated idea, making it relatable is fantastic. I did have to pull out the dictionary a few times on this one, but that just means I learned something.

all a bit technical I suppose -- comes from a background in biology and animal medicine.
The right one can make all the wrong seem right, un-break your heart and make you feel complete.
I agree you used wonderful metaphors.

Thanks a lot. I really used Jon Roggie's last few as a jumping off point.
Wonderful metaphor, KL! Yes, when the right one comes along, he will stitch you up so well...the scar will disappear! May it happen for you soon. Lydi**
