love as a precision instrument

love as a precision instrument

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

for Jon Roggie, your work inspired me

"
with precision,
your love sliced through
all that was extraneous
to me --

the subcutaneous
layer of bravado
I use to hide
the me within --

expertly and painlessly
exposing each dermal stratum,
and the not so pretty
under-skin ---

when the right surgeon
wields the scalpel,
the healing
can begin.

If ya got to have a surgeon.. just make sure its the right one.... my Dad had both his knees replaced and afterwards could sit crossed legged like an orangutan... it was only later, we found out they had replaced his knees with elbow joints, but my word.. he sure could peel bananas quickly.... N x

I have had time to think about it.
this poem has the concentrated, even pace of a surgeon's hands - love the word play - waiting for the right man to come to your life and show your real self to him

Good, I am glad.
I liked how you described the journey of love.
"when the right surgeon
wields the scalpel,
the healing
can begin."
I believe we need time to heal. A half-empty effort in love lead to no-where. I liked the above lines. A kind and gentle love is like a doctor healing touch. Thank you dear friend for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you. I was worried this one was a bit technical. But it seems to be resonating.
I love the way you weave the scientific terminology and make it into a brilliant metaphor about heart ache and the healing process. The right surgeon is always a crucial factor... Remember to always do your research and find the right one! Fantastic writing KL!

Thanks very much for your visit my friend, and the review.
Sometimes it just calls for the right surgeon to mend the heat and bring love and caring and devotion back. I hope that makes good sense. I feel I don't give great insight in reviews.

oh, now that I've read it over a few times, now I think i get it. big smiles. you're very delicate in using words here. Whenever someone has a broken heart, it will always be hard to mend it back together, only a precise healer or someone who understand your heart to were to put the pieces together will the proper healing begins... i love how your wrote this...
