a dish a plate a bowl and a spoon

a dish a plate a bowl and a spoon

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

too ridiculous to be true

"

a dish a bowl a plate and a spoon,

a jester's mask to

fake your smile,

just some of the things

you call and ask me for

every once in awhile.

I don't care

about your stuff,

enough is enough.

you can have it

and stick it

where the sun don't shine,

but while we're playing

what's yours is yours ...

you might want to

crack that pocket book

and give me back

the tears and fears of 17 years

and everything you took

that was mine.

the anguish and emotional battering and torment about a love gone stale, now bickering about the smallest details, over the smallest, insignificant things, that highlight the absence of love between two people who used to love each other

That's what it comes down to, in the end, some worthless things. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

my best to you,

steph
Is it even possible to return to you all that you lost in those 17 years? I doubt it. There comes a time when you have to just move on and know you are strong enough to regenerate all the things he took from you. Incredibly honest and real, your words bleed. Powerful. Lydi**

I always like those movies (cause it usually doesn't happen in real life, where all "his stuff" is thrown out the window and onto the street to be collected either by him or the trash man whoever gets there first.. (yes I do have a revenge streak KL)...

When my first wife aand I split, I left and didn't take anything, it hurt too much to want anything theat we shared. She got all the records (some I had since I was like 12), all the pictures and art, everything. The funny thing about this was when I hear from one of her friends how strange I was (meaning no wonder we split), "he didn't take anything". So I went back and took a silver plated serving dish my parents gave us for a wedding present. It wasn't worth anything but her and her boyfriend didn't know this... So I quess I did take something after all.. ha!

sometimes men think even knowing it is all over, they must still have control or prove somehow that they will always be around. so KL take whatever remains of him and throw it out the damn window and tell him the trash man comes in the morning!!! sorry, can I chalk my comment up to getting up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?? please!!

when it comes to many men, NOTHING is too ridiculous to be true...

damn this reminds me of when my last ex left...and was going through all the kitchen stuff...asking me what i wanted...but mostly after she decided and boxed what she wanted...my answer was a moot point...

she gave me the egg cooker because she hates eggs...ha ha...i finally just left and said take whatever you want, just get through with it, please.
the last stanza is so telling...how can you get back all the years and tears lost? impossible.

ah such memories this stirred...

Thanks for stopping in. The things they obsess over, as if it will make it better.
I'd just tell him to keep it and the memories as well, they are not needed anymore either. If I read this correctly. Well crafted poetry.
