Destiny's 8 Bridges

Destiny's 8 Bridges

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson

Bridges

I paved over
the debris
left from
bridges
I burned after
you
footprints
in wet cement
wandering
a new path
to another
door.

Entropic vision
turned
inward
blinded
clouds my
judgment
love.

headlines

etched between my brows
and into your forehead,
stories of where
we've been
and where
we've yet to go.
trying to read between
to see if there is room
for you
and me.

I don't know when
or if
I tripped
slipped
stumbled
or fell.

but one day
came a time
only to
your heart
my secrets
I tell.

Inhale  deeply
the scent of your
skin
spread your
sin
in my secret spaces
feel me
gather all of you
into me

trying
too hard
to be
less
than
who I am
so you
won't see
the more
inside me.

why do you sometimes
turn away
when I feel those baby blues
land softly upon me?
are you afraid of
what they'll say,
or what they won't?

waiting for you to find a destiny far from me,
knowing in my heart that what I want cannot be.

Intimate and sensual, your words create a diary of a love affair. I especially liked:

to see if there is room
for you
and me"

Wanting something or someone unavailable...whether because of other entanglements or other problems...is excruciating. Your words are emotional and honest. I always enjoy your work. Lydi**

letting go and holding back at the same time---the process within...the giving, the taking and the fear of doing either.

Rather soulful and haunting, all of these snippets, and then the blend into the common underlying theme is very well done.

Thank you, I appreciate it, and heck, it's easier than posting 8 separate pieces. LOL.
