Your hands

Your hands

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

Inspired by conversations with Ana Sophia, among other things ...

"
Your hands,
are nothing like
the ones that
came before.

Your hard,
is not one
from the in,
but from the out.

You are a man,
born of earth
and dirt and
work and pain.

Maybe that is
what I need,
to teach me
to love again.

They are hard to find and hard to come by if we aren't looking in all the right places. I love this line

You are a man,
born of earth
and dirt and
work and pain.

It's something about people who have been exposed to hard life make's them treasure the most important. Well expressed KLGoode :)

KL, this induced tears...so beautifully rendered, as always...the promise of a beautiful person who has known pain can heal the other...a touch of miracle...sometimes, beautiful xo

Thank you so much. I am sorry it brought you to tears. But happy that it moved you.
Such sweet honesty found in the simple and the humble. Beyond the trappings of how much he makes and what he owns, finding the soul of the man is indeed a treasure.

Thank you so much.
I love the flow and the message in this girl.. What can I say, I am just a simple southern girl who has respect for hard work and even more for a hard working man who uses those calloused hands to gently cherish the one he loves as well as rough and rowdy to show her a good time.... ooh yeah!... I admit I got tripped up in the second stanza with the wording, but overall really enjoyed and can easily relate.. sign me up.. could use some magical hands myself.. :)

Many people didn't get it. But it's personal. To me, it's about being hard on the outside but not on.. read more
a perfect poem for the working class, laboring, lovers- for that is the best kind.

Oh, yes. We need a man who knows how to use those hands. How to be rough and gentle. How to handle difficult labor and our tender hearts. This is so wonderful with such few words. Wonderful, KL! :)

Oh yes baby a hard working man, but we all know behind every hard working man is a woman who loves us for more than life sees.
Oh yes a hard working man needs a loving woman to make us work harder.

From 9 to 5 a man works hard, but from 5 until the sunrise is a woman making us love harder than we work.
Lets get up in the morning and love harder than we work. Do things with my hands is what I love to do...paint and hammer is what you say...oh baby my hands are more than just that.

Ok so I went a little over bored but the poem and song made me ;)
