I think of you

I think of you

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

just some random transient things

"
I don't even think
I can admit to myself
how often
you cross my mind.

that would be
admitting defeat,
and I am not ready
to capitulate
to feelings
I am unwilling
to face.

so when you
enter
that private space
the one that
imagines
futures that
might be,

I push you out
of the rocking chair
on the porch
as the sun sets,

and pretend
it's just me
sitting there.

Lol! Love that rocking chair visual.
Sometimes it's like that, someone is in our thoughts and you just want them OUT.

Thanks I appreciate it.
The rocking chair image is very clear and appealing , but when did you go all sedentary on us?

Well, I figure I will need a rocking chair when I am like, 90.
Do we sometimes reject those types of thoughts in others because we are repressing them in ourselves?
OK, confession here, when I first saw the title, and knowing your taste in music I misconstrued it to think about the Davinyls song, and dropped the "about" in the line that actually reads "When I think about you, I touch myself"
So there was that expectation this was headed in that direction.
Well written KL.

Not at all. And funny. That's a whole other poem. I think I already used that one, somewhere back ab.. read more
Not even admiting to oneself. I do that so often. I always end up playing this game... But the reality of it all is what speak the loudest and the feeling are sitting down rocking looking at the horizon of possibilities that would never become real.

Better to be alone that in bad company

Perhaps, or perhaps we are just crazy.:) Thanks Rene, for stopping in.
"pretend it's just me"

i like that....there isn't room for two in that rocking chair, unless the two truly are "one."

Thank you very much.
KL, what a wonderful "transient" poem... actually it's quite well penned with thoughts flowing tightly to the dream music and missing you words... it's the kind of poem I wish I could write... it's just open, honest thoughts, ones that can be seen and tasted... you know, I think I can see you rocking and singing too...
