A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

I wrote this one a while back. forgot it was still on my phone memo board.

"
Once
she dotted her ' i ' s
with happy faces
and sunny hearts,
cramming her
impossibly tiny
letters into even
smaller spaces.

Today
she uses keys
to tap out letters
pushing a button
to choose the face
behind which she
can best hide
her true feelings.

sealed with a smile.

There is something to be said for handwriting, much more of the soul is revealed. A keyboard is a shield...

Absolutely. Thank you for stopping in.
One thing it has acomplished...my handwriting is so much better now. (Smiley Face) It is hard to express emotions and it really is sad the need for some little smiling face so another doesn't think we are upset.

Yes amazing how tone is inferred when it's not there
An e-mail. Impersonal writ large. A letter? Sealed with the lick of her tongue. Her hand shook a bit in this sentence, she bore down hard on the paper when she wrote this part over here. These gray spots?

I think I'd better call. I think I'd better call right now.

Yes, I know, there is a whole generation that will not understand.
The organic vs the inorganic you probably won't be surprised to know this subjects gets a lot of my attention. Most of my curiosity is driven towards what we don't get to see. When you pick a small seed, and you dig a hole and make sure the seed drops in not rocket science, thousands of seeds thrown by a mechanically driven circuit? Will they bear the same intention? Does the circuit even relate to the intention part? Do intentions matter in any shape or form?

This writings carries great questions behind it.

I wish I knew the answers

Thankyou

I do recall reading this before? It expresses the transition from the hope of youth, full of dare and exuberance to guarded hurt adult.

Sure, I think, Umm I don't know. :) ;)
I agree with Dale..the keyboard blocks out the personal touch..I can't remember the last time I wrote or received a written letter...

Yes, so true...you're welcome,
Just as technology has made writing too easy it has also taken a lot of the personal touch behind the document.

Yes, it also makes it easier to disguise true emotion. Thank you.
