jewels you could not pawn

jewels you could not pawn

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

thank you

"
There they are,
two glittering gems
brighter than any
diamonds,
more perfect and splendid
than all the gold
you rescinded
in your leaving me --

you cannot pawn them,
or pry them from
my grasp,
or squelch the
light in their eyes
when they look at me,
you cannot blight my love
or cast it into the sea,

our daughters,
the jewels
I will be forever
grateful
you gave to me.

Phenomenal write and one I understand rather well. Children are the gems born of romantic love.

You are welcome as always
Sad, dertemined, hurt, defiant, loving and beautiful in a flowing verse which once again captivates and tells a sorry story well.
